Trace Software and Spatial Announce ACIS-Enabled TraceParts for Inventor

Strong OEM partnership key factor in rapid release of 3D parts library

Dassault Systèmes Spatial
Boulder, Colorado, April 9, 2001—Spatial Corp., a market-leading provider of world-class 3D software components, and Trace Software, an application developer for the mechanical and electrical marketplace, announced today the release of ACIS-enabled TraceParts for Autodesk Inventor™. TraceParts was released less than three months after Trace Software licensed the ACIS® 3D Geometric Modeler. This significant development achievement is a direct result of Spatial’s commitment to customer success through product quality and customer service. TraceParts for Inventor is one of the first ACIS-enabled applications to be released under Spatial’s new OEM Partner Program and is a prime example of how ACIS licensees benefit from Spatial’s dedication to customer success.

“To release TraceParts for Inventor less than three months after licensing ACIS is a tribute to Spatial’s commitment to quality and customer support. We chose ACIS because of its open, object-oriented architecture which gave us a flexible foundation on which our developers could quickly build our extensive 3D parts library,” said Etienne Mullie, CEO, Trace Software.

“Another key benefit is the opportunity to partner with a company that is a recognized technology leader with an ongoing commitment to developing and enhancing its products. Spatial has been a responsive, supportive partner and has helped us to meet our development goals in record time.”

“Trace Software’s ability to quickly and successfully integrate our advanced ACIS 3D geometric modeling technology is a testament to the exceptional quality and modern architecture of ACIS,” said Arnaud Poujardieu, Vice President, European and Asian Operations, Spatial.

“The release of ACIS-enabled TraceParts for Inventor confirms Spatial’s mission of providing quality 3D component products and comprehensive customer service to enable software developers to build high-performance 3D software solutions in a fraction of the time. Trace Software is a welcome addition to Spatial’s expansive, international customer base and clearly shows the growing interest in the European market to utilize Spatial’s software components to deliver exceptional 3D products to end users faster.”

About TraceParts for Autodesk InventorTM

TraceParts for Autodesk Inventor is the first fully integrated library of mechanical components for Autodesk Inventor. It provides designers with access to an extensive library of mechanical components that is always up-to-date and includes a dynamic 3D viewer for the fully parametric components. TraceParts is not just a product line, but also a concept and entire range of services supplied to manufacturers and drawing offices. It is based upon PartsXML©, a structure that standardizes the coding of the information required to accurately define components, and the dotCAD© format, a descriptive language based upon JAVASCRIPT that is used to define the fully parametric component models.
