CAD designers from all over the world are invited to reproduce a place or monument that best represents their country in 3D, to be in with a chance of winning a 3D printer!
St Romain, France – November 18, 2014 – TraceParts, one of the leading providers in the world of 3D digital content for design and engineering, has announced today that it is launching its 8th annual competition.
The TraceParts engineer community, numbering more than 2 million CAD users, has been getting involved in this competition for eight years.
This year, participants are invited to draw a place or monument in 3D that best represents their country, using CAD or image editing software.
They can use as many CAD components as they wish, available for free on the TracePartsOnline.net portal.
Entries should be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org before December 17, 2014 in a file no more than 1 MB in size.
All the entries will be published on www.traceparts.com, and the best design will be revealed on December 24, 2014.
Participation in this competition is anonymous, and the winner will be contacted by the TraceParts team to be awarded the prize for 2014, a 3D “RepRapPro” printer distributed by RS Components.
All the 3D files available on TracePartsOnline.net are compatible with the most popular native CAD software packages used, such as SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, Pro/ENGINEER & Creo, Inventor, AutoCAD, Solid Edge, TopSolid, Geomagic Design, Kompas 3D, SpaceClaim, SketchUp, Autodesk REVIT, ZW3D, Draftsight, HiCAD, TurboCAD and T-FLEX.
Most neutral CAD formats are also supported, in particular DWG, DXF, IGES, STEP, SAT, JT, VRML and many others including STL format, which is the standard format for CAD files used for 3D printing.
We wish everyone the best of luck!
