The second eCatalog Conference exceeds expectations set in 2009.
Amberg – Germany, 31 March 2010 – In 2010 TraceParts, a leading digital engineering content company, together with its partners KiM, crossbase and Plan Software, has once again staged the eCatalog Conference in St. Wendel, Germany.
A selection of sales & marketing support software solutions from the fields of CAD parts catalogs, product and sales configurators, the automated generation of print catalogs and the use of CAD data for catalogs was on display at the conference. Adobe Systems, item Industrietechnik, HAWE Hydraulik and Schaeffler Technologies (INA/FAG) presented their best practice solutions in areas related to the software solutions to round off the event.
With more than 90 participants from Germany, Switzerland, France and the Netherlands, there was a significant increase in the number of visitors compared with the first event which took place in 2009.
Visitors from the mechanical engineering, plant construction and electrical industries were able to find out about the latest products in the relevant fields and made use of the breaks to share information in the course of lively discussions amongst themselves and with the organizers.
Peter Kuster, PLM Project & Support at maxon motor ag, accurately summed the very positive response to the conference: “I would like to thank you once again for your support at the eCatalog Conference 2010 in St. Wendel. The discussions and some of the lectures highlighted very interesting issues and the visit was definitely worthwhile.”
Other companies that took part included Bosch Rexroth AG, Seeger Orbis GmbH & Co. KG, Häfele GmbH & Co. KG, Siemens AG (industry automation), WAREMA Renkhoff GmbH (sun protection systems) and maxon motor ag.
After an introduction from Achim Angel, managing director of KiM, the lecture series was started by Christian Baumgärtner, managing director of TraceParts GmbH.
TraceParts presented the advanced parts searches and visibility of product data on the Traceparts DVD and the web portal www.tracepartsonline.net.
The company also gave a detailed insight into the subject of intelligent 3D components in the form of elecworks, its latest product with SOLIDWORKS Gold Partner certification in the field of automated electrical 3D design.
Subsequently, the TraceParts partners KiM, crossbase and Plan Software presented their software solutions in the areas of product and quote configurators, the automated generation of print catalogs and the use of CAD data for catalogs.
Adobe Systems, item Industrietechnik, HAWE Hydraulik and Schaeffler Technologies (INA/FAG), companies which have been working closely over several years with the organizers, demonstrated their best practice solutions after the lunch break and shared directly with the attendees their positive experiences and the added value they had gained.
Following this year eCatalog Conference a survey was carried out among participants to find out how satisfied they were with the event. More than 75% of those asked were very satisfied with the organization, the lectures and the framework of the conference. Over 73% of the participants said that the information they had obtained at the event would be used in their future decision-making.
Summarizing the conference that had just come to an end and looking forward to the eCatalog Conference 2011, Achim Angel, managing director of KiM, said: “The major success of this year eCC and the positive feedback from our customers indicate to us that we are on the right track. Together with our partners, we can make use of the links between our software products to present an impressive portfolio of solutions in the field of product catalogs. We will continue to develop our partnerships and expand the eCC over the years to come.”
We look forward to your visit in 2011!
